Vaughan James, BA (Design)
Having graduated in 1995 from Curtin University as an Industrial Designer, Vaughan decided that designing machinery and cases for electronic gadgets wasn't as exciting as it sounds, and managed to land a job in the high pressure world of Post Production, doing 3D modelling, special effects and computer animation for corporate video and broadcast television.
During the late hours babysitting computer rendering farms and in-between the crazy deadlines, he taught himself HTML by hacking apart website source code and piecing it together in MS Notepad or Netscape Composer. Before long, he was hooked on web design and development and was mastering CSS way before most geeks knew what a Cascading Style Sheet was.
For more than ten years, he has been building cutting edge websites and watching the internet come of age. From bulletin boards and Internet Relay Chat, to Social Media and Web 2.0, Vaughan understands the fundamentals of internet design, development, usability, search engine optimisation and a whole range of acronyms that to others, look like a spilled bag of Scrabble letters.
Some of the businesses Vaughan has designed or built websites for include AQWA, Scouts WA, Aaromba Technologies and DiskBank through to Howard Park and Madfish Wines, Makit Hardware, MTI Group, Roaming Tech and Fotek School Portraits to name just a few from an extensive portfolio gathered during employment at a few of Perth's finest web development companies.
Vaughan offers a unique design consultancy which spans traditional and digital media,
from printed flyers to full featured websites and 3D concept visualisation, plus other stuff too.
